Many speculations, assumptions, and theories have been made throughout history about the shape of the Earth—and even today, the debate continues. Today, there are two major camps: the flat-Earthers and the globe-Earthers. Surprisingly, both are engaged in a debate that holds a certain degree of legitimacy. Flat-Earthers, for instance, have come to realize the inadequacy or invalidity of the so-called “proofs” presented to them about the Earth’s shape. As a result, they find themselves in a justified state of questioning.
To this day, we do not possess a definitive image of Earth taken from space that is unquestionably from Earth’s own perspective. Even if we assume that the widely circulated photos are not entirely fake, it is now admitted—even by those who present the images—that they have been digitally altered to some extent.
For this reason, it seems that the debate will not be resolved through existing observational data alone. In this article, I will provide the real answer—one that, I believe, will compel humanity to reach a consensus. Without relying on complex formulas, geometric analyses, or hypothetical postulates, I hope to present a conclusion that anyone can understand.
If you’re ready, let’s begin…
Take a piece of string and attach an object heavy enough to outweigh the string itself. Then, hold the other end of the string and start swinging it so that the object hangs downward. What you observe is the object’s “resistance” to detachment from the string. The element providing this resistance is the string itself. The motion of your fingers represents the “force” that drives this physical law.
From this simple experiment, we understand: if there is no force, there is no resistance; if there is no resistance, there is no movement. In the universe, there can be no physical process without force—because the absence of force is not a physically definable state. It would be like trying to do mathematics without the four basic operations. Numbers alone cannot produce results.
This offers us a fundamental inductive principle:
For anything we perceive to be a “structure” in the physical realm, it must possess force, resistance, and movement. The absence of any of these disqualifies it from being perceived as a physical structure.
Now, with this prior knowledge, we arrive at a definitive and indisputable proof about the shape of the Earth.
Let’s return to the string example. No matter how you swing it, if you want the object at the end to move in a regular, predictable pattern, your motion must repeat. This repetition is what we call “cyclicality.” And this same cyclicality can be observed on Earth as the alternation between night and day. In fact, this cycle repeats with such precision that we can mathematically calculate its patterns.
In truth, everything on Earth carries its own form of cyclicality—but I will not elaborate on this now, so as not to distract from the main topic.
The Earth, by its very structure, is bound to cyclicality. Because this is a law of physics. As seen in the string example, without force, resistance, and motion, nothing can form a coherent “structure.” So how can we explain the system of force-resistance-motion that creates night and day?
Now we arrive at the most critical question—one whose answer reveals the very shape of the Earth:
The force is the sun. The resistance is Earth’s mass. The movement is night and day.
We say the sun is the force because it is the only entity that directly causes the alternation of day and night—think of it as the swinging motion of your hand.
The resistance is Earth itself—its mass—because it is the sole surface upon which this phenomenon takes place. Think of it as the circular motion of the string.
The movement is day and night, which manifest through motion—like the swinging object at the end of the string.
These three elements form a system—a “structure”—that functions in absolute interdependence.
Thus, the force of the sun determines the nature of Earth’s mass. Therefore, for the day-night structure to maintain its cyclicality, the mass of the Earth must also be cyclic in nature. Because the direction of force shapes the direction of resistance, and the direction of resistance determines the direction of motion.
The only geometrical form that allows mass to form cyclically in every direction—collapsing inward equally from all sides—is sphericity.
In conclusion, the Earth must be, in coarse terms, “round.” This is the most natural consequence of an unshakable physical law. And the fact that it is such a law means that this phenomenon could not occur any other way. This is, in fact, a manifestation of a divine mechanism that God has embedded within every known structure of existence.
